Service Description

Are you ready for a musically enlightening experience? Do you fancy connecting with others, and learning a new skill? Strummy Mummies aims to connect mothers through music and hold space for musical experimentation in a safe nurturing community environment. We will be learning fun pop songs to play together, whilst the children are playing with their toys. Children have equal status in the room and freedom to roam, the sessions will be adult centred, but children are welcome to accompany parents. Some children's toys will be available but please bring your own if you like. The sessions are for mums and non-binary people who hold roles as carers for children. Eleanor is a professional vocalist with a wealth of knowledge to share about healthy singing techniques. Eleanor has most recently been working with the Mothers Who Make group, running singing and songwriting workshops at the library facilitating the participants to take part and perform in the Mothers On the Mic events. Emily is a professional guitarist and singer songwriter, open mic host, and the founder of the Mobile Music Hub that delivers music workshops for schools, youth centres and community groups around Devon. Both Eleanor and Emily share a passion for the ukulele and pop music, they love to knock out cheesy pop songs together at open mic nights in Exeter, they hope to share the joy it brings them to other mums in Exeter. On Wednesdays we will be meeting at the Rougemont Room at Exeter library, Castle Street at 10:30am-12 From 17th April - 17th July Price per session £5 Buy a plan 6 sessions for £25
