The Festival SetUp
The Mobile Music Hub brings quality instruments and friendly musicians to festivals. We help children and young people learn new skills and jam together and offer them performance opportunities. We have a mix of traditional instruments like guitars, ukuleles and keyboards. We also have a collection of music tech that includes MIDI instruments from ODD.Ball and Playtronica, samplers, recording equipment, loop pedals and effects pedals. We also have all the equipment necessary to run open mics on our mini stage. We can do all this running off solar power!
Drop in & Jam
At festivals we find our drop in and jam workshop works best, as participants can come and go so they don't miss their favourite bands. We set up the instruments and let the young people try them all, usually sparking up spontaneous jams.
We use these sessions to nurture new skills, and we recruit the stars of the future to perform at our open mic, and even at the bigger stages at the festival.
We are inclusive and participant-led, which means we like to meet the young person where they are on their musical journey and help them move forward in a direction that inspires them.
The team
Emily and the team are fully DBS-checked and have had professional training and experience working with children and young people (including SEN) at festivals, events, community groups, youth centres and schools. The team are working musicians with a range of skills, all from different backgrounds varying from actor musicians to music producers.
